Google's Pixel 8 Pro Leaks: Features, Colors, and Launch Date Revealed

Google unintentionally revealed the Pixel 8 Pro through its 360-degree simulator, confirming new features, color options, and a flat display. The device is set for an October 4th launch event.

Google has once again unintentionally unveiled its upcoming Pixel 8 Pro, adding it to the long list of Pixel models that have suffered leaks. This time, the revelation came courtesy of Google's own 360-degree simulator, which allowed users to examine the device from all angles, complete with informative yellow dots highlighting various sensors and ports. Inadvertently, this simulator not only confirmed several features, such as a novel temperature sensor and a physical SIM slot but also showcased three available color variants. Initially spotted by a keen-eyed user named José Rubén, the simulator swiftly garnered attention, with others sharing images extracted from the tool. It unveiled a palette of colors, including blue, porcelain, and black, along with a home screen reminiscent of the previous Pixel 7 Pro. Additionally, the simulator exposed the presence of a SIM card slot and reaffirmed the previously leaked temperature sensor. While specific specifications were not detailed within the simulator, previous leaks have provided some insight into the Pixel 8 Pro's capabilities. The device is anticipated to house a 50-megapixel primary camera designed to capture 50 percent more light and a 64-megapixel ultrawide Sony camera. A notable departure from its predecessors is the rumored flat display, diverging from the curved screens of the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 7 Pro. Furthermore, expectations include a robust 5,000 mAh battery and a 27W maximum charging speed. The Pixel 8 Pro is poised for its official unveiling at Google's upcoming launch event, scheduled for October 4th at 10 AM ET. Notably, these leaks surface just ahead of the iPhone 15 launch on September 12th, a curious coincidence. Alongside the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the event may also introduce the eagerly anticipated Pixel Watch 2 and various other hardware offerings.
