iPhone 15 Pro's A17 Pro Chip Shines in Geekbench Scores and Features

The iPhone 15 Pros A17 Pro chip demonstrates a remarkable performance boost over its predecessor, with higher Geekbench scores, 8GB of RAM, and improved CPU and GPU capabilities. Starting at $999, pre-orders begin on September 15, with a global launch on September 22.

Apple's latest iPhone 15 Pro has made a significant leap in performance, as evidenced by the initial Geekbench scores. These scores validate Apple's claims of a substantial improvement with its new A17 Pro chip compared to the previous A16 Bionic chipset used in the iPhone 14 Pro.

Geekbench, as reported by MySmartPrice, has unveiled an iPhone 15 Pro (model number iPhone 16,1) featuring a six-core CPU clocked at a base frequency of 3.78GHz. Impressively, in the single-core and multi-core tests, this device achieved scores of 2,908 and 7,238, respectively. In contrast, last year's iPhone 14 Pro managed scores of 2,642 in the single-core and 6,739 in the multi-core tests.

Similarly, the iPhone 15 Pro Max (model number iPhone 16,2) put up strong numbers, scoring 2,846 in the single-core and 7,024 in the multi-core tests. These scores comfortably outshine the iPhone 14 Pro Max from the previous year, which recorded 2,546 and 6,631 in the same respective tests.

Notably, both iPhone 15 Pro models were found to sport 8GB of RAM, a step up from the 6GB of RAM featured in last year's Pro models, confirming earlier reports.

The A17 Pro chip, crafted using a groundbreaking 3-nanometer process, boasts a six-core CPU delivering 10% improved CPU performance and a 20% boost in GPU performance. It also incorporates a 16-core neural engine, doubling its machine learning capabilities to handle tasks like precise autocorrect and advanced image subject extraction, performing up to 35 trillion operations per second.

Additionally, the A17 Pro introduces a brand-new GPU with an Apple-designed shader architecture, marking a significant redesign aimed at enhancing performance and efficiency for complex applications and advanced rendering features.

The iPhone 15 Pro starts at a competitive $999 for the 128GB storage variant, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max begins at $1,199 for 256GB of storage. Pre-orders for these impressive devices commence on Friday, September 15, with the official launch slated for Friday, September 22, in over 40 countries and regions worldwide.
